Lucha Libre - "Free Fight"
This cultural core point is not at all about fighting or hurting one another, even though one might think so. Let me try to explain it a bit.
During the week, usually on Tuesdays, a lot of Mexicans gather in a "Coloseo" what is kind of a small arena. People inviting me told it would be about "dis-stressing" :)
First I thought it would be kind of Amerinca Wrestling but while the actors are "fighting", what is completely show-off, the crowd keeps on insulting, shouting and laughing at each other. The people in the lower part, closer to the fighting "actors" are the rich ones, the ones futher away on the gallery are the poor ones. At least for this evening event. That is why the "poor ones" keep on insulting and shouting at the "rich ones" and vice versa.
Being in the middle of that with a bit of spanish knowledge is incredibly funny and unbelievable! Here the Mexicans keep on shouting bad words to each other for hours and every good, old German would be amazingly insulted and stand there slapping himself checking if it is the real world as it appears not to be :)
Still, after the event everyone goes home happy and free of anger or whatever ;)
Video? There u go!

German History and National Socialism
it is incredible! people here tend to have a fragment knowledge when it comes to the history of Germany. "Yeah, Hitler was a great guy, organizational talent, was not bad what he did, I would do the seem. Look at Mexico, we would need someone like Germany had in the time of the Second WW." WHAT? Several times I have had to tell people already how many people were killed and what really happened. In addition, it is hard to believe that quite some people here keep claiming the Jews for whatever happens, has happened or happened. "They are the bad guys with all the money, the corrupt ones, the ones who can do whatever they want etc."
The fact that Mexico is a very catholic country does not improve the situation what could lead to the assumption that the Catholic church has lost any connection to the people of his God.
Now you know why pupils in Germany are taught over and over again what really happened back in this time.

A nice place to live and work
Guadalajara is a nice place to live and to work as well. Certainly, it is a huge city but still it offers this kind of "flair" you do often only find in smaller towns.
Currently, it has been raining a lot. Especially in the evenings and nights what means that the sun often shines when we can't enjoy it or should I say do not see it at all :) A bit like in Germany during winter time.
Sunset a few days ago when there was no rain. Burning city :)
On the streets there is usually a lot of traffic with every kind of vehicle. My favorite style;) :
Take a motorbike, cut the end part and put a tent with two wheels there instead. Done!
Last impression for today, the inner court of the company I'm working in. Regretably, I can't offer better pics :)
Have a great second part of the week!

Geburtstag-Birthday-Cumpleaños the Mexican Way
exactly. now I'm already 23 years old. crazy crazy :)
it has been smeeling strange in our house. let me tell you why.
yesterday we invited a couple of mexican friends and colleagues to come over and have a little house party for my birthday. this ended in having the house and backyard full of people from all over the world. more or less at 3a.m. most of them were gone or moved on to the next party.
as we got up today in the early afternoon the house was such a mess :D incredible. there was a totally destroyed and not even partly eaten birthday cake, loads of bottles and stuff on the floor and some other undeterminable things splashed all over the floor, tables and cupboards. the floor had changed color, mostly grey, no more wodden or light-colored stone.
finally, hours and litres of water later, everything looked acceptable again :)
short but striking :)

Eine Woche Guadalajara
so.
endlich wieder bloggen ;)
FOTOS!
bald mehr :)
