Yesterday we arrived safely in Guadalajara again after an amazing 10 day trip through the states of
Yucatan and Quintana Roo in the South East of Mexico.
Mixture of Spanish colonialism, Mayan culture and incredible nature make this area a very special place on earth.
To show you where we were travelling, more or less :)
We started in
Merida, what is more or less in the center of the peninsula, 3 hours flight from Guadalajara. Then we moved West to
Celestun, to continue heading South direction
Uxmal, after what we went back northbound to
Valladolid. From Valladolid we travelled to
Tulum which is surely one of the most amazing places in Latin America. From Tulum we continued our trip to the North, always along the coast, also known as Riviera Maya. We spent as litte time as possible in Cancun and Playa de Carmen as these are real flesh pots full of tourists. The last bit of the trip took us to
Isla Holbox what is about 3 hours in bus and 30 min on the ferry away from Cancun.
Of course we visited quite some more places than these few mentioned :) Here the links for those pics.
-Grand Cenote, near Tulum
-Xelha, near Tulum
-Xcaret, near Playa del Carmen
-Chichen Itza Piramides, near Valladolid
Awesome Mexico!
